Who needs originality these days? Covering other bands is still cool, you guys have to remember. If The Beatles could do it with a million girl groups back in the day, it's still totally acceptable to do cover songs.
First up is Canada's electro-pop guru Vivek Shraya who covers The White Stripes' "Seven Nation Army." He adds (obviously) a heavy touch of electro to the song and adds a hint of sleaze as well. I smell a fantastic remix of this coming soon; somebody get on that please.

Next is Swedish pop star Robyn. Apparently she's huge in Sweden and has been around since the mid '90s - who knew? Certainly not me. Anyway, she recently appeared on Jo Whiley's Live Lounge BBC show, where she covered "Since U Been Gone" by Kelly Clarkson. She strips the song down to its basic elements and adds a little electro touch, enough to make it almost reminiscent of early 2000's Ian Van Dahl techno.

Lastly is a song that has been floating around the internets for a while but I thought I'd post - LCD Soundsystem covering Joy Division's "No Love Lost." There's not really much I can say about what kind of spin James Murphy puts on the song except that he makes it sound more like LCD Soundsystem. Anyone who listens to LCD knows the kind of sound it has and so it's not that hard to think about what I mean by the "LCD sound."
