Stardeath and White Dwarfs may be one of the coolest bands to come out of Oklahoma City, despite the fact that the name of the band uses dwarfs as plural instead of dwarves (According to an interview I read, dwarfs is the proper pluralization when referring to the astrological term, and dwarves is for when talking about small people). Their position as one of the few bands from the Midwest making a blip on my radar makes sense considering the fact that lead singer Dennis Coyne is the nephew of Flaming Lips frontman Wayne Coyne. A little bit of craziness and musical talent must run in the family somehow. The band are releasing their "I Can't Get Away" 7-inch today, and listening to the single, you can immediately get the family resemblance when it comes to voices.
