Ok I live in LA so besides just posting about Brooklyn and London bands that I like, I suppose I should post more about stuff in LA. I go to so many events that it'd kind of stupid for me not to share! So let's start things off with something nowhere near the kind of stuff I normally post on here but whatever. Snoop Dogg (and surprise guests) is playing a private show Tuesday night at the Avalon. There's no tickets for sale; the only way to get in is to show up tomorrow, Saturday the 4th, at any of three "dogg parks" (hilariously bad) - Runyan Canyon, Griffith Park and Silver Lake. Show up at 3 PM and you'll see where they are being distributed. I'll probably see you at the show.
Also, I'm very sad that I missed DJ /Rupture spinning at the Silver Platter (in Koreatown) last week, on the 31st. Of course, I found out about it the next morning...awesome. He's currently in town for Postopolis, which ends tomorrow.
This Sunday though, for those of you unable to (or to cheap to) get tickets to tomorrow night's Ratatat show at Hollywood Palladium, you can make yourself feel slightly better by seeing Ratatat DJ at the Standard in downtown, with LA's very own Daisy O'Dell.

Last but certainly not least, Dutch artist Parra will be having the opening party for his new exhibit at HVW8 Gallery in West Hollywood. It's this Parra, not this Parra. RSVP here.

Click after the jump to see something spectacular (from Parra, of course).
