This post is just an excuse to post this picture, kind of.
These days, you can't be just an actor, just a DJ, just a blogger, or any one singular thing. Multi-tasking is what gets you the dough, and the people in my current favorite show (well, it's up there with Top Chef) Gossip Girl are taking that to heart. Taylor Momsen (Jenny) has taken up singing as lead singer of the band Pretty Reckless (myspace profile is yet to come, apparently), and will be going on tour in May, and new to the game is Leighton Meester (Blair), whose cover of Awesome New Republic's song "Birthday" is actually...not that bad. Then again, it's a cover, so you can't really judge, but hey, if enough actresses take up singing, statistically at least a few of them have to be kind of good, right?
I've heard songs from both girls and I must say, Leighton/Blair wins. I feel guilty pleasure time coming up now.
