Odd side project of an already-known act? Most likely. Cryptic myspace with no information, no pictures of band members, and no friends? Check. Feathers, from San Francisco and New Orleans, seem to have all of the correct "blog hype" prequisites set. Now all they need are at least one to two strong songs (check!) and some blogs to start talking about them, and they should be set for at least the next couple of months!
In terms of hype bands though, I suppose you could classify Feathers under the chillwave, 80s-synth, moderately lo-fi categories, if you want. The songs haven't really stood out to me as absolutely amazing but for initial demos, they're incredibly strong, and a good sign of things to come. Keep an eye/ear out for this.
