As the singer of British UK band Guillemots, Fyfe Dangerfield was always a criminally underrated frontman for a criminally underrated band (at least in the States). While I'm not so sure on the current status of Guillemots, I do know that Fyfe has released his first solo record, Fly Yellow Moon, this year, of which I've become a big fan. It's definitely one of my favorite new releases of this year (along with Four Tet, Pantha du Prince and a handful of others), and any Guillemots fan will surely appreciate this.
As with Guillemots, no one in America really cares about this release (I'm not actually sure if it was even released in the States [EDIT: Just heard that the album will be out in America on March 16th!]), so I'll take a second to come as close to forcing you to listen to this as I can. Check out the first song on the record as well as the excellent remix of "She Needs Me" by Monarchy.
